Longtime comedy partnersAmy PoehlerandTina Feyhave extended their first-ever live comedy tour together, which now has them heading to the Bay Area.
The “Saturday Night Live” alums have scheduled shows for their “Restless Leg Tour” in Austin, Texas; Portland, Ore.; Atlanta; and New York; and at the Masonic in San Francisco on Jan. 26 and the Paramount Theatre in Oakland on Jan. 27.
Presales for the new dates began at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, with the code “RESTLESS.” A general ticket sale begins at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, viatinaamytour.com.
The duo initially launched the tour with a limited run of sold-out East Coast shows in the spring, celebrating their 30 years of friendship and creative collaboration with jokes, banter and untold stories.
“If this tour goes right, we can finally end this friendship,” Poehler and Fey said in a joint statement.
Poehler’s and Fey’s friendship began in the Chicago improv scene in the 1990s, and they later became the first female co-anchors of the “SNL” news segment “Weekend Update.” They have since produced popular sitcoms like Poehler’s “Parks and Recreation” and Fey’s “30 Rock”; acted together in films like “Mean Girls,” “Baby Mama” and “Sisters”; and co-hosted the Golden Globes four times.
But they are not the only former “SNL” stars headed for the Bay Area.
Adam Sandlerrecently announced the dates for his 25-city “I Missed You” North American tour with a “surprise guest,” which will reach SAP Center at San Jose on Oct. 18. Tickets for that show are on sale viaticketmaster.com.
