The marketing for the upcoming live-action “Barbie” movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling is officially in overdrive.
In its latest promotional push, Warner Bros. has partnered with Airbnb to offer fans a chance to stay at a real-life version ofBarbie’s Malibu Dream House.
Described as a “life-size toy pink mansion,” the Malibu house promises breathtaking panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and several unique amenities, according to the listing written from the perspective of Ken, Barbie’s long-time companion.
“Welcome to my Kendom!” the description reads. “While Barbie is away, she has handed over the keys to herMalibu DreamHousethis summer and my room could be yours for the night.”
Booking for the room in the all-pink home opens at 10 a.m. July 17 for two one-night stays for up to two guests — at no charge — on July 21 (the Friday the Greta Gerwig-directed movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters) and July 22. Details on how to request a stay are available on theAirbnb listing.
“These one-night stays are not a contest,” the listing adds, confusingly. “Guests are responsible for their own travel to and from Malibu. This home is privately owned and operated.”
While at the Dream House, guests can enjoy an outdoor dance floor, a colossal pink slide, and an infinity pool adorned with floaties spelling out “K.E.N.” The images featured on the listing accurately capture the “Barbie” movie’s plastic fantastic aesthetic.
“I’ve added a few touches to bring some much-needed Kenergy to the newly renovated and iconic Malibu DreamHouse,” the Ken-penned listing states.
The property was previously listed on Airbnb in 2019 to mark the 60th anniversary of the Barbie brand. In celebration of the latest promotion, Airbnb said it will make a one-time donation to the humanitarian aid organizationSave the Children.
Last month, the “Barbie” movie’s production designer, Sarah Greenwood, said the film sets required so much pink paint that they caused a global shortage.
“The world ran out of pink,” Greenwood toldArchitectural Digest.
