After two years of living in the long shadow of the pandemic, Bay Area music fans are starting to see signs of hope this spring. As COVID cases and hospitalizations continue to fall and public health officials peel back safety measures, including mask mandates and vaccination requirements for most settings, people will once again be able to party like it’s 2019.

There will be plenty of opportunities, too, as the concert calendar fills up over the next few months with can’t-miss concerts by rock and rap royalty Paul McCartney and Snoop Dogg, with a couple of friends; pop sensations Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo; and up-and-coming stars like PinkPantheress and La Doña. That, plus the usual serving of distinctly Bay Area music festivals like BottleRock Napa Valley and the San Francisco Jazz Festival.

Billie Eilish

Since her original Chase Center tour dates were put on hold two years ago due to the COVID-19 pandemic,Billie Eilishhas become a legal adult and released a new album that reflects her newfound sense of maturity, “Happier Than Ever.” The 20-year-old pop singer will pair the acoustic, dreamy tunes from her latest release with the sinister hits from her 2019 album, “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?,” such as “Bad Guy” and “Bury a Friend,” when she returns to the stage.
