Bob Dylanhas added a string of West Coast dates to his tour in support of his latest release, “Rough and Rowdy Ways,” including a three-night stand at the historic Fox Theater in Oakland.

Having wrapped up his first run of concerts since the pandemic began last week, Dylan plans to kick off the second leg of his tour in Spokane, Wash., over Memorial Day weekend on May 28 — just four days after he turns 81 — and hit a handful of cities along Interstate 5 before winding up in San Diego on June 18.

His stop in Oakland is set for June 9-11, after a concert in Redding on June 7.

Tickets for the concerts go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, April 22, on Dylan’swebsite.

“Rough and Rowdy Ways,” which was released in 2020, hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200, becoming the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician’s 23rd top 10 on thealbums chart. Dylan was scheduled to perform at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley in June of that year, but that show was canceled due to COVID-19 safety concerns.

The tour is expected to continue through 2024, with a band that includes bassist Tony Garnier, guitarist Bob Britt and multi-instrumentalist Donnie Herron, along with drummer Charley Drayton and guitarist Doug Lancio.

Dylan also recently announced he will release another book, “The Philosophy of Modern Song,” via Simon & Schuster, on Nov. 8.
