Members of Green Day to play at this tiny S.F. club

Green Day members, who headlined last year’s Outside Lands, announced plans to play an intimate show at a club in San Francisco’s Mission District this weekend.

Members ofGreen Day, which headlined last year’s Outside Lands, will be playing in a more intimate venue this year as the festival takes place in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.

Singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt plan to perform at the 75-capacityKilowattnightclub in the city on Sunday, Aug. 12, as part of The Coverups, the multiplatinum East Bay punk trio’s covers-only side project featuring touring guitarist Jason White, tour manager Bill Schneider on bass, and audio engineer Chris Dugan on drums.

Tickets for the show, priced at $26.78, have already sold out but there is a waiting list through the ticketing service Dice. There’s also alive stream via Kilowatt’s Instragram.

The Coverups frequent local clubs, having played the Ivy Room last year, with a setlist that typically includes rock classics by the Ramones (“I Wanna Be Sedated”), Nirvana (“Drain You”), Cheap Trick (“I Want You To Want Me”), David Bowie (“Ziggy Stardust”), INXS (“Don’t Change”), and the Plimsouls “A Million Miles Away.”
