新专辑
嘉莉·安德伍德(Carrie Underwood),“牛仔布和水钻”(国会大厦纳什维尔)
While the release of 2021’s spiritual “My Savior” netted Carrie Underwood a Grammy Award for best roots gospel album, the former “American Idol” season four winner is now getting back to her cold, hard country roots.
With the help of co-producer David Garcia (Lady A, Florida Georgia Line), “Denim & Rhinestones” sees the singer exploring the musical influences that shaped her from a young Oklahoman to one of country’s most recognizable stars. “She Don’t Know” is a down-home, honky-tonk number with banjo and fiddle strings interspersed throughout. “Crazy Angels” is an ode to feeling empowered when letting loose, as Underwood sings, “Yes, I’m one of those crazy angels, tilted halo with a neon shine. Call me one of those crazy angels, even good girls wanna have a good time.”
The new release is produced by Phillips, who joins English on vocals on “All Dressed Up,” a breezy tune about falling hopelessly in love and yearning for the feeling to return. Then on the title track, jangly guitars, fuzzy synths and that same punchy snare from way back, along with English’s breathy “oohs” and “aahs,” paint a flowery picture of romance in the air.
Joey Badass, “2000” (Columbia)
Almost exactly a decade ago, a young Brooklyn rapper emerged with a mixtape that felt like it came out of hip-hop’s mid- to late-’90s golden age. This was Joey Badass’ “1999,” and he was rapping over beats produced by J Dilla, MF Doom, Lord Finesse and some of his own Pro Era cohorts. If there was a pitfall to his phenomenal rise, it’s that it threatened to pigeonhole Badass as a nostalgia rapper. But he broke through that label to the tune of two top five albums on the Billboard 200 and has become one of East Coast hip-hop’s most influential creators.
Now on his third full length album, “2000,” Badass says he’s“back on the set like I never left.” Look no further than “Head High,” a reflection on the winding road that led him to this point and a nod to the friends he lost to the streets along the way. It also provides that assurance that he is still the same person to those who have known him ever since. “So we hold our head high ’til they put us below, best know ’til the day we die we gon’ keep this heat close,” he raps over a harmonic beat from longtime collaborator Statik Selektah.
Badass announced Thursday, June 16,这张专辑不会按照本周的计划发行“由于样本清除问题”,但是当它最终下降时 - 他希望本月晚些时候 - 值得等待。
Badass is slated to perform in San Francisco at the Regency Ballroom on July 23.

Post Malone, “Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol” featuring Fleet Foxes (Republic)
在2019年,viral video clipsurfaced of rapper Post Malone passionately singing along to Fleet Foxes’ “The Shrine / An Argument” in between chugs of Bud Light and cigarette puffs. It was an unexpected sight to see the tattoo-faced Malone totally losing himself to the hard-hitting indie folk song from the Seattle band, but it made clear that Post Malone isn’t the guy everyone sees on the surface.
With the release of Malone’s fourth album, “Twelve Carat Toothache,” Fleet Foxes singer Robin Pecknold appears on the emotional “Love/Hate Letter To Alcohol.” The song’s thundering drums lay the groundwork for push/pull lyrics like, “You’re the reason why I got my ass kicked / But you’re the only way to drown my sadness.”
Last month, Malone performed a triumphant rendition of the song on “Saturday Night Live,” with Pecknold joining him onstage as part of a backing chorus. Look for Post Malone to bring the theatrics when he headlines Outside Lands’ closing night on Aug. 7.
