Outside Lands, San Francisco’s premier music festival, is slated to return to Golden Gate Park this summer on Aug. 5-7. This comeback is surely welcome news to the foggy festival’s regular attendees, after the three-day event was repeatedly postponed in 2020 and moved to Halloween weekend in 2021.
Though the musical lineup and COVID-19 safety guidelines for this year’s Outside Lands have yet to be announced, a limited amount of Eager Beaver presale tickets — when three-day general admission and VIP passes will be at their lowest prices — go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 13.
Among the highlights of Outside Lands’ 2021 Halloween weekend was the multi-hyphenate pop starLizzo, who returned to the festival as a main-stage headliner after performing during an earlier slot at the same venue three years prior. Alongside the music, the festival’s 21-and-olderGrass Landsstage — which opened in 2019 — provided an area to kick back and relax, exploring Bay Area cannabis businesses away from the fuss of concertgoers moving from one stage to the next.
Last year’s edition of the festival, however, also saw a number ofcanceledappearances, including Grammy-winning rapper Young Thug, YouTube breakout Marc Rebillet and American Idol alumnus Alejandro Aranda, better known as Scarypoolparty. But the acts dropped from the bill were swiftly replaced with comparable talent, such as comedian and musician Reggie Watts and Portland rapper Aminé.
