TheRolling Stoneswere forced to postpone their concert in Amsterdam on Monday, June 13,just hours before it was due to start after lead singerMick Jaggertested positive for COVID-19.
“I have unfortunately just tested positive for COVID,” he said in atweet. “We aim to reschedule the date ASAP and get back as soon as we can. Thank you for all your patience and understanding.”
The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers confirmed the cancellation in a statement, saying the 78-year-old Jagger tested positive “after experiencing symptoms of COVID upon arrival at the stadium” on the outskirts of Amsterdam.

There were no further details about his condition.
“The Rolling Stones are deeply sorry for tonight’s postponement, but the safety of the audience, fellow musicians and the touring crew has to take priority,” the statement said, adding that the show would be rescheduled and tickets for the concert at Amsterdam’s Johan Cruyff Arena would be honored for the new date.
The band is touring Europe to mark its 60th anniversary.
Over the weekend, former Beatles drummerRingo Starralso announced thepostponementof the remainder of his summer tour dates after two members of his All-Starr Band tested positive for COVID-19. Those shows will be rescheduled for September, he said.
“We are so sorry to let the fans down,” Starr said in a statement. “It’s been wonderful to be back out on the road and we have been having such a great time playing for you all. But as we all know, COVID is still here and despite being careful these things happen. I want to thank the fans for their patience, I send you all peace and love, and we can’t wait to be back in the fall.”
