Want to go to a ‘Barbie’ listening party? Here’s a spot in S.F.

Be one of the first to listen to “Barbie: The Album,” the soundtrack to the highly anticipated movie starring Margot Robbie as the famed doll.

Come on, Barbie, let’s go party at Amoeba San Francisco!

The music store is celebrating “Barbie” movie release week with a free album listening party on Wednesday, July 19.

Amoeba’s event will give fans a first listen of the film’s soundtrack, released the same day as the movie on July 21, featuring songs by Charli XCX,LizzoandBillie Eilish. There will also be freebies and exclusives for attendees to bring home.

During the celebration, guests will have the opportunity to preorder an exclusive version of the CD with exclusive cover art and the song “Barbie Dreams” by K-Pop artist Fifty Fifty featuring Georgian rapper Kaliii, whose song “Area Codes” recently went viral on TikTok. The track is on streaming platforms but is not available on any other CD or LP versions of the soundtrack.

Preordered CDs can be picked up in store beginning July 21.

Fans who attend the listening party will receive a commemorative wristband and poster while supplies last. Raffle tickets will be drawn for Barbie-themed prizes including visors and sunglasses.

The highly anticipated film, directed bySacramento native Greta Gerwig, follows Barbie (Margot Robbie) and Ken (Ryan Gosling) as they leave picture-perfect Barbie Land and enter the real world, where they discover the perils of being human. “Barbie” is scheduled to hit theaters the same day as “Oppenheimer,” which has sparked a flurry of social media memes and more about the box-office battle of the summer.
